Your plant was very nice. Delivery was quick. But your delivery charge of £30 is far too high. I bought from you on the recommendation from my gardener but I probably won't buy from you again.

Lack of information on your web site. When I called to ask a question your staff were friendly and helpful. You did not advise us of delivery, it would have been helpful to be asked if we were available on day of delivery as we had to cancel arrangements we had made. Some of the plants arrived without any leaves.

Hello Annette, Thankyou for your review, We do always try to provide as much info as possible about the delivery, I have checked your order and it seems we were unable to get hold of you on the number you provided. The notes say we left a voicemail and emailed as well. These must not have got to you in time. I am sorry. The plants you have ordered are privet hedging, These loose their leaves in the autumn and re-grow them in the spring. The amount of leaf loss varies depending on how cold the winter is. In some mild years they can keep many of the leaves. I hope this clears up your concerns. Kind Regards Paul W

The plants were excellent, but they did not deliver on the date agreed and made no attempt to get them to me the following day. The delay caused me a lot of stress as I had a gardener lined up and could not give him a new date. The customer service experience was awful, they were rude to me and treated me like I was the problem. There was no sense of urgency on their side or attempt to get the plants to me asap. You can tell how good a company is when the service goes wrong. On this level you totally failed me. As I says, plants great, customer service non existent !

Plants appeared to be healthy. However, the soil in the pots was dry and needed watering immediately on arrival. As shown in the sample photographs, all 250 plants were rootbound and had to be carefully unpicked before planting. All of the Grasslands staff contacted by telephone prior to ordering were polite, helpful and professional. The driver who delivered the plants was blunt, dour and seemed only to want to get away when I insisted on counting the plants. The delivery was a day late, but to their credit, Grasslands emailed to say the driver was unwell and the order would be delivered next day.

The hedging trees ordered were replacements for previously supplied bare root plants that had failed. The new items were well packaged in excellent condition and were well watered so arrived looking very healthy. The overall experience was spoilt by the push back I received when seeking some allowance for the previously supplied plants that fell below expectations. Hence 3 stars

The tree is lovely and exactly as described, I’m very happy with it. However the delivery driver way extremely rude. He didn’t deliver the tree to the location as stated on the delivery note. When we asked if he could move the tree as it was in the way of the front door and my mother is in a wheelchair, he refused!

Tree growth was at lower end of spec, clearly “forced growth” lacking substance. Expensive and disappointing. Driver and service excellent.

Was not impressed with the way the delivery driver man-handled the pretty expensive hedging plants. They were dumped off the back of the truck and therefore some were damaged. Not really acceptable

Great plant, good customer service, but poor and insufficient packaging together with heavy handling by the courier.

I ordered hedging which arrived last week. Communication was fine, was out when delivered, so it took me aback when I saw the 2 large polythene bags on the drive as I couldn't think what it was, as they were packed alternately roots up/leaves down. Didn't think the packing was great, I've ordered hedging before and it came well packed on a pallet. The plants, on the whole, seem to be of good quality, but there is a great variation in size, some bundles diminutive by comparison to others. Unfortunately, some plants have broken stems. None of this is unreasonable in itself, but my order wasn't cheap and I think these points could have been avoided to give a better customer experience.

Sadly I can't review as I'm yet to receive my delivery even though I've been informed the tree I ordered is now in stock.

Unfortunately difficult to rate as I ordered some trees online and when chased up delivery they told me they have not been dug yet let alone delivered ! I ordered them 2 weeks ago and was not informed that they would not be sent straight away and in fact the person I talked to at Grasslands was rather disappointing to talk with and gave me little confidence that they will arrive any time soon. So still waiting for the date when I will receive the trees.

My order was handled very efficiently. I was kept informed of progress and told when the rootballs had become available for delivery - delivery was well co-ordinated and on time. Unfortunately one of the six plants I ordered had a main branch at the root level hanging and broken. The branch had ingrained dirt which suggested it had been loaded and delivered that way. Another of the plants had all its top leaves covered in dust and mud, suggesting it had been lying on its side for a while. Grasslands did give me 25% off the cost of one of the plants - but no further comment about the damage. The plants do seem to be in fine health otherwise now replanted.

Having previously bought large shrubs (camellia, silverberry) from Grasslands which were absolutely excellent I ordered a Euonymus japonicus Aureus Ball, 70 Litre Pot. On delivery I immediately noticed insect damage to the leaves. After complaining I was told that "...all our stock outside has some form of insect damage.....this will not have an effect on the plant's health". I was also told that new shoots coming through would not have this damage. In fairness I was offered the opportunity to return the plant (at my own expense). Unfortunately, I was away on holiday by that time and didn't do so. On my return the insect damage had already increased substantially and the young shoots on the inside are as badly effected as the mature leaves. The whole plant has leaves half eaten away and is beginning to look quite unsightly . Grasslands told me that nurseries have been encouraged by government to cut down on pesticides but I wish that they could at least offer some advice on how to counteract the infestation by natural means or perhaps more 'eco-friendly' pesticides. Very disappointing from such an otherwise good company.
