“The yews were in very good condition when I unpacked them but if the weather had been any warmer or the parcel had been delayed it would be a different story as the roots were not wrapped in any damp material just bare so very liable to drying out. Luckily I opened the package immediately on delivery and jump them in water to rehydrate”

“The 4 hedging plants varied a good deal in terms of density/breadth rather than height. They were also noticeably different in terms of colour which surprised me-two seemed drier and with duller foliage. I’m hopeful that they’ll all take, but not sure at this stage-despite the fact that yew grows well in our free-draining soil and planting instructions and after care have all been complied with fully. It is not ideal sourcing plants from 200 miles away, but we used to buy from your nursery when we lived in Cheshire, and have always been impressed by the quality of your plants. The delivery driver did not ring ahead to advise of ETA which would have been helpful. The plants were very heavy to lift and some warning to customers of this fact would be desirable. If this review seems critical, I was impressed by your website and ordering process. Yew is just such an expensive solution that I do have some reservations about the quality of your plants on this occasion. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for them getting established at this early stage. Graham Crawforth”

“I'd would prefer , as a professional, to be given at least an am/pm time slot. The order came at around 3.45/50 meaning I lost a days work effectively. I have no issues, however, with plant quality . Its a shame I can't collect from the nursery anymore.”

“We bought (5) 5-6ft red Robin hedges for what was the best price we could find. Overall I am happy but they did arrive incredibly dry and definitely in need of some love.”

“Ordered 14 x Privet Hedging Plants (10 litre pots at 125 / 150 cm tall). Arrived within a week OK but plants were loose and scattered about the lorry (most of them tipped over) and therefore not packaged or banded in anyway. Nonetheless, they survived the journey relatively undamaged. No complaints about the height of the plant at 5ft - 6ft tall but this was the issue....very tall and spindly. Have completely cut them down in height to 10 inches to get them to bush out (see photos). Grasslands should follow their own advice and cut them down by 50% per growing season. Could see that this had not been done and that they had been grown for height and had not been trimmed for a year or two. All nurseries are the same I suppose as many customers seem to be more impressed with height than thickness. At the end of the day I suppose you are paying for the age / establishment of the root and in this respect they are fine. Average score, as no better / no worse than other nurseries I have bought from. Plants not quite as good as the pictures even when considering we are still early in the growing season for these semi-evergreen plants. Overall OK, no major issues.”

“The box was way to big for my purchase and the pots and grass wasn’t together when opening the package. As far as I’m aware it was kept up right as stated on the box. Need cardboard pot holder for each plant to keep in place. Luckily mine was grass but if it had flowers on it they would have broken.”

“Delivery was fast, although I did not receive a delivery email notification. Luckily we were home. The plants were of good size but very dry and wilted on delivery. Planted and a good watering and they are doing well.”

“Very good service and delivery was within the 2 weeks timescale noticed. The 3 plants were delivered on a broken pallet and they were very dry. The leaves were looking distressed. Since planting, 2 of the plants look a lot better however one is still not looking good.”

“Ordered 20 Mexican feather grasses that arrived in a box, it was a total mess, plants out of pots, all thrown together! Somewhere along the line the box was thrown about! I opened box in front of driver who then refused to return it as it was opened!”

“Sadly only 3stars this time as I was very disappointed with the delivery. I had ordered the plants in plenty of time and was assured they would arrive on the right day. Unfortunately this didn’t happen.”

“Please can you show rootball Thuja conifers when you are selling them in winter? Also, the conifers I have received have winter bronze on the leaves at the top half of the conifer. The conifers you are selling are not really what you receive as the ones you show online are green all over”

“We had delays with delivery, without communication. Only half the shrubs reached the minimum height ordered. The shrubs were yellowed and most of the leaves contained black spots and holes. Very disappointed. However, we needed the screening urgently so we’ve planted them and are keeping our fingers crossed.”

“Ordering good, delivery quite poor. Tree dragged from truck and man handle to lean against house wall, tree damaged on several branches. I would have expected more from your own delivery driver. I only know this information from the CCTV I have at the front of the house.”
