“I ordered two plants. One was fine. The other, a hydrangea, arrived with mildew. Initially when I sent a pic they tried to tell me it was silt from pond water. I sent a further picture demonstrating that newly emerged leaves were affected, and then they just told me not to worry about it, leaves would drop off and all would be well next year... I was unimpressed by Grasslands responses: once something has mildew that's that, it can come back anytime. They may be relaxed about the fact the plant they sent me wasn't in the best of health but I am not... it may not thrive, or worse, it may infect my other hydrangeas. A disappointing shopping experience for me.”

“Delivery of a large tree in a 20 litre pot was made by dumping it immediately in front of my front door. The bell was not rung even though I was in the house at the time so I was unable to ask the driver to move it. Poor delivery service.”

“on the whole a good service but very reluctant to replace anything you are not happy with. Have had to replace stock at my expense to keep customer happy, first part of a significant order / planting will now be placed locally”

“previous orders with this company had arrived promptly and were very healthy however recently I bought a Fatsia which was small and ill looking. I contacted the company about this and have received no reply as yet.”

“Good Delivery Plants werent as uniformly dense as expected howver -with long branches versus growth unfotm Some evidence of leaf spot on a few leaves -minor Contacted Grasslands for advice after client noted 2 of the 5 as above I will plant nevertheless as client wants the job done Shame as previous purchase was ok”

“Once our huge 7 potted shrubs and mature trees finally arrived they were absolutely stunning. Probably the best grown with full and rich and large leaves on our cherry laurel bushes but unfortunately woeful communication from this organisation. They even told us we would be the second delivery on a certain day (we ended up the first) and they said early to mid afternoon (the biggest truck the size of our street turned up just before 7am!!!) We love our shrubs and are impressed with how beautifully healthy they look but unfortunately management is not very good as we had to wait months for them to arrive with very little communication. Therefore reluctant to use again.”

“Overall i would recommend this company. The plants seem to be good value for money but their transporting is not at all good. For more robust plants it seems OK. But for more delicate plants - there is no protection for them and they arrive damaged. I have ordered from around 6 different nurseries and Grasslands seem to be one of the best for value but the poorest in the way they are transported. I guess you get what you pay for.”

“Timely delivery, well packed but pot was completely smashed on opening. Box was not damaged at all so assume it was packed in this state. Also a dead patch on one side of the conifer tree which will hopefully be disguised as the plant grows. Not the best experience really, quite disappointed.”

“Great delivery just a shame that I had to reorder the pleached frame after the previous one didn’t last and grasslands didn’t offer a replacement or refund. Hopefully I have more success with the new one.”

“One plant arrived with it's pot broken which made a mess. Packaging was a little awkward but the plants were in acceptable condition. I didn't bother to email customer service as they are often quite dismissive or rude.”

“I bought a multi stemmed amalanchia and was very pleased to find it. I had it delivered to Leeds, so the total cost to me was about £150. When it arrived, I was disappointed. It had three main stems, but they had not been pruned correctly so they were growing across each other. If I pruned it correctly now, I would only have one stem left. I have had to try to rectify the problem by putting in three linked tree stakes and bending the branches outwards. I can understand that if this was one of the last plants available, it might not be the best. Considering it’s poor form, I think it should have been sold as a second at a discounted price.”

“To be honest, we were disappointed. The plants looked nowhere near as healthy as, or even particularly resembled the pictures shown. We’ve repotted & fed them, & hopefully they will pick up. Ultimately, we’ve put these issues down to time of year & delivery process, plus they were half price.”
