To be honest, we were disappointed. The plants looked nowhere near as healthy as, or even particularly resembled the pictures shown. We’ve repotted & fed them, & hopefully they will pick up. Ultimately, we’ve put these issues down to time of year & delivery process, plus they were half price.

Purchased supposedly 6 Phormuim Cream Delight from the online ordering service Unfortunately for me Graaslands delivered the wrong plants. As their website states that colour and shape of thier plants may differ from their advertised photo I accepted this as I thought they had delivered the right plants. 2 of the plants had loose soil in the pots that gave me the impression that these had been put in to 3 litre pots from a smaller pot. This meant that the soul from the root ball fell away. I planted them all out but sent and email to Graasland questioning this. Now coming up to date, one of the Phormuim was not growing well. Surprisingly it was one where the soil fell away from the root ball. I decided to go to a garden centre and purchase another Cream Delight. When I got it home and compared to the Phormuims planted in my garden the colouring of the leaves did not match. I then sent an email to Grasslands to question why I hadn’t received the correct plants. No reply for 3 days so I phoned them to be basically told as the order was 8 months old and i didn’t query at the time of delivery it was basically my fault. I don’t even know what Phormuim plant I have planted in my garden. Cream Delight is a smaller size and the one in my garden could grow 2 or 3mr. Based on this i will need to remove all these plants and replace them at my own expense. I paid Grassmere over £100 to supply me the right plant and they don’t want to refund me anything for THEIR ERROR. I will never use this company again and I would suggest that you clear check your order on delivery because thier customer care policy as shown me they justt try want your money and take little responsibility for thier rrrors

I ordered 20 medium plants (2L pots) for my hedging. I have ordered several times from Grasslands and was satisfied as although my previous orders where larger in number and much larger plants in size, they were delivered in appropriate boxes to enable me to carry inside. This time however, the plants were delivered on a pallet in a box 20 times what was required for plants of this size and number. The driver dumped the pallet and box outside the door of my building (I live in a flat) on the street, blocking the pavement and thoroughfare in central London. I had to then arrange a delivery company to collect the pallet and empty box, at a cost of £80 plus congestion charge and with VAT costing over £120. In addition, I received a penalty notice for causing an obstruction to a public thoroughfare of £95. When I raised to Grasslands they were sorry I felt aggrieved, which of course is not an apology. I requested to speak with management which was ignored. Nowhere on the portal to payment was it pointed out that the customer is responsible for the disposal of the pallet and packaging and that the drivers leave the items wherever they see fit. This is a clause in the T&Cs but it should be clearly stated upfront at payment during the delivery section of the process with an option to reject the pallet and massively oversized packaging in favour of smaller boxes and no pallet. Please be aware as these are hidden costs and what was an order for £90 worth of plants, cost to me with the £35 delivery, over £350., so please BE AWARE. Although I have ordered from Grasslands several hundreds of pounds worth of plants this last year, and was very satisfied, this experience was shocking. I will never use them again and will be advising my wide network of gardening friends and societies likewise as this was a very disrespectful, stressful and expensive experience.

Ordered a dozen buxus 60cms with a value over £200 and the plants arrived in a sad and distressed state. Leaves yellowing at the edges and the plants were so dry the pots fell off. Gave the company the opportunity to resolve and they tried to justify the plant condition and simply said send them back at “your cost”.As a part time garden designer I would not recommend dealing with this company. They appear to cut corners and do not have a customer friendly policy. My client took the plants but I had to pass them a 30% discount. They pay to get high up on search engines so be warned.

Against my better judgement I desided to buy a maple tree and an established wisteria from Grasslands and I have to say I am so glad I did, from there customer service to the delivery they are very professional, curteous and knowledgeable, both the Maple and wisteria are well established and healthy, fantastic I strongly recommend grasslands to anybody who want good quality and healthy trees and bushes.

I bought one initially, planning to buy another if it worked in the tight patio space available. It is a decent plant and I would have bought another but the delivery took longer than stated and expensive (£30 for less than a 5 mile trip) and it arrived with a very large split the pot. The delivery guy was going to leave it on the pavement and not inside the property but did eventually help after watching me struggling with it (for a long time). For complicated reasons it had to stay in its original pot for a few days in baking heat with a hose pipe ban and no means of efficient watering because the water gushed out the side. Consequently it is drier than it should be and now looks unhappy. I bought a lot of plants recently from The Palm Centre. The contrast in customer service, speed and care in delivery is marked, so unfortunately I won't buy another from Grasslands.

Have been let down due to delivery issues. It stated 1-2 days when ordering and was going to be at least 8 days minimum, despite being promised yesterday they would definitely be here today (3 days). Had to cancel the order. Disappointing.

The trees were good but the packing insiffient as the four pots arrived cracked and the roots of the trees were dishevilled. I rang and supplied photos about this, but got unsatisfactory outcome, and the matter was not resolved. I was told it did not matter the trees arrived in this state and it would not harm them. This is plainly not True, it won’t have done them any good.

I am a very keen gardener and will only buy my plants from Grasslands. Plants are always so healthy and do so well in my garden. I will be going again when I do the next phase of my garden.

I am very sorry to have to send this negative review as it is not something I have ever done before...and would not have done now if you hadn't requested a response. I was pleased with the price and punctual delivery of my order and with the general quality of the plants, but disappointed that the Leucanthemums (which actually occasioned my choosing Grasslands as a supplier) were ultimately unavailable once the order had been accepted. Much more disappointing, however, was the extent of the perennial weeds in the pots and entangled with the roots of the plants (not just algae, mosses and liverworts on the surface of the potting compost). This was so bad in many cases that my first action was to split and divide the plants and wash off some of the soil in an attempt to avoid transmitting the weeds to my garden thereby allowing them to flourish in the heart of the plants so that I would never be able to eradicate them, which obviated the point of obtaining specimens of the size I ordered. Accordingly, I would use Grasslands in the future for hedging plants, for example, but not for herbaceous perennials. I am not sending this review to upset anyone (all the nursery staff looked lovely people in your promotional photos) or damage your online reputation, but, as you suggest, to alert you to a problem so that you may bear it mind and maybe take any possible steps to remedy it, Regards, Ann Finch

I've used grasslands twice for shrubs, first time I was impressed, with arrival speed and packaging. Second time plants arrived on a pallet, as expected, 2 days after initial estimate, but all shrubs were laid flat, on their side in a massive box, meaning 50% of the soil in the pots fell out and all plants have been streatched away from their roots where other plants laid across the top of them. I'm waiting to see if they survive or not before contacting grasslands, but thought I would share my experience so far.

Plants arrived damaged. I contacted Grasslands immediately: via phone and email. I also sent images. Over the course of six days I was first told to plant them anyway, asked to send more images and told a manager would be consulted. I asked for the plants to be returned. I wasn’t offered a refund or replacement. I’m an avid gardener who very regularly buys plants - mostly directly in-person from garden nurseries, but I’ve made about half a dozen online purchases. I never had to ask for a replacement or refund. The customer service I received is really disappointing.

Very disappointed with the plants I received having ordered 3 plants from the website based on pictures of staff members holding the plants. They looked large in the photos, however what I received was small. Nothing like the photos. Customer support were dismissive of my complaint even when I pointed out the deception. No one wants to pay for a large plant only to receive a small one. I would avoid ordering from Grasslands again. Judge for yourself see photos below.
