Shopping with grasslands was not a great experience. I ordered 23 plants to be delivered. When they arrived, only 11 came. I tried phone the office but had no response so I decided to drive over an hour to the nursery to try collect my remaining plants but the guy working would not give them to me. When I finally spoke to the office and arrange the delivery of the missing items. I was told that no compensation would be given. And to top it off, when the remains plants finally arrived, the condition of them was not gate good as they were root balls and had been out of the ground for too long.

Hi Grasslands, thanks for the trees delivered. The rootball quality was very poor as soon as the burlap was removed everything fell off revealing a bare root tree with very few if any hair roots left. Trees were planted as replacement Tree preservation order trees and have to survive the council inspections. Kind regards, Jake

Long wait then 1 hour notice of delivery. No time to make arrangements. Then charged double for delivery. Over £80! Very poor.

Unfortunately they look nothing like the images on the website! Arrived skinny, quite a bit shorter, brown and looking half dead in all honesty.

Hi Julie, Im sorry to hear your not happy with your order. I have attached an image of the plants form the delivery. Could you let us know what the issue was, They appear healthy in the pod and I cant find any emails from you raising any issues. Would you please get in touch if your unhappy and we can look in to this for you. One thing I do notice on the image is the brown seed pods on the branches. These are quiet normal and nothing to worry about. Kind Regards Paul

Having ordered 39 plants of 80-90cm in size, only a handful were of the specified size and a big majority were nowhere near this size and nine plants were 50cm at best, hence very disappointing.

I have not been impressed at all with the customer service aspect of Grasslands. I have over time purchased many plants, but of note have been the cherry laural this year. I identified that three of the plants where much smaller than the 40/50cm of the others, some 35 plants. What I have found simply staggering is the debate, following my pictures sent to customer support that they were in fact within the size. Agreed I incorrectly measured them, BUT the pictures show the difference. One only needs to look at the pictures I sent to see they much smaller against all the other plants! I live in H/C and was more than happy to bring them back, but that has never been offered. It's clear to me that unlike other suppliers you don't have a no quibble policy, and in the end we are talking about three plants that will take a few years to get to the size of the others, so I am unable to use them.

Plants OK so far. It's the pickup from your nursery by parcel force which is wrong. Waited in for plants to be delivered on the advice of the nursery /parcel notivcations, only to be told, it had not been picked up yet. Get your act together, only inform customers when the item has actually left your nursery. Because people have to plan a head, to get plants into the ground same day as delivered. Wakeup or loss business.

While ordering on the telephone I especially asked for the 'bushiest' tree they could find as it was filling a hole. What arrived was a very narrow and tall free which had been heavily pruned. I complained but was juist refered to the website image (even that tree was bushier!). So no notice taken of my request.

Soo many bad leaves and bird poo on the leaves. When I finished with my 9 plants I must have taken off the amount of leaves equivalent to 2 whole plants. Size 180 to 200cm.

Not great keeping you up to date with delivery. Had to keep phoning to find out where our delivery was, as tracking said they would deliver next day and ended up three days later! In total took 2 weeks for delivery. But Laurels were in good condition. I wouldn’t buy again though, as too much hassle finding out when delivery was going to be.

Plants going yellow already One in the ground and 2 remain in pots but the leaves are yellow and falling off. Have not over watered them. Not quite sure why this is happening as I have bought laurels before and they are going really well in my garden.

I leave this review as honesty helps others make an informed choice and casts tranparency on the most important part of any brand, its customer services department. If things are not right then it's so important to know if the CS team have the quality to respond in the right way to create a postive customer experience. I bought a small tree and eventually I had a call to say it was coming. There was no email nothing to say anything about the delivery. I was called the afternoon the day before it was due to arrive so be aware it's very last minute and not organised in a way that works for both company and customer. Also be aware there is no time allocation, it's basically anytime on the day. Also be aware that you are considered lucky if your purchase is placed on your driveway, as the deflection I was given is that it's a kerbside delivery. The day after the delivery I got an email to say my tree was out for delivery, I mean the day after, utter chaos. The tree was delivered at 8am not a knock on the door nada, I was in the front room so I would have heard. CCTV also shows it was a dump and rush. I left the house to walk the kids to school to see the tree lying on its side on the driveway. I was told oh that's the wind, erm there was not even a breeze that morning. The driver lacked the intelligence to leave the tree in one of the multiple places where it would not fall. Thankfully it fell away from the car, had it gone the other way it would have scratched the paintwork and that would be a big cost to repair. I would say quite a stressful and long process seeing how little the customer services cared about the polite feedback sent to allow them to improve the delivery manner which is an extention of the customer experience. I'm not sure people want to spend £120 on a tree that is left to fall over, potentially snap a branch or cause damage to your car, the drive is big enough not to put it where it was. The Customer Service team ignored the points raised and said oh that will be the wind that never was. I would say from my experience you will be dismissed, it's a well oiled machine of ignoring the points made to allow improvement to their service with not responding to them and making excuses. So be aware you will not have the high EQ needed to resolve discuss and accept honest points if you have a negative experience with this company. They just don't care and they are fine about that.

I ordered two large, mature Conitus plants in 10L pots and expected something that looked comparable to the picture on the website. I’m aware that plants are cut back and it would be starting to grow new leaves. What arrived were poorly packaged with a single piece of paper wrapped around the pots. Much of the soil and woodchips had fallen out. More importantly one of the plants was very much smaller than the one shown on the website so I emailed the company. Their reply was that the plant had been cut back and would ‘almost double’ in size over the summer. However where the braches had been cut back they were just a couple of mm thick (see the photo) meaning they were never much longer than they are now. Almost doubling in size in a year would still not be as large as the plant shown on the website. This is a small plant in a large pot and I’m sure no one would pay almost £50 for it in a garden centre. This is very disappointing.

Spent 1300 on trees and bushes. A tree needed to be returned on understanding we would have to buy another to replace it. When refunded we was charged a re stocking charge of 10% and not given full refund on that tree which was over 100 pounds less than the one we bought for its replacement. The delivery also took a long time to arrive. Won't be using again. Terrible customer service. Pics on site don't match what you recieve.

My bare rooted Portuguese laurels arrived looking half dead, I sent the nursery a picture of them saying I didn’t think they would all survive at this point. Several weeks later when quite a few were totally dead I sent another photo and I was told bare root plants were hard to establish and I might have done better with pot grown plants. They wouldn’t replace the dead plants, offered 20% off replacements but I had to pay the postage. Poor customer service I would say. Also parcelforce will no longer leave parcels when you are out and I was told to drive 15 miles to a depot to collect I was out in working hours. All in all a bad experience
