“Barefoot yew plants were much shorter than described and very very dry. Must have been harvested ages ago and sat around. Hopefully they survive. Definitely not using grasslands again”

“There were four very small and dying yew in the batch of ten. This was disappointing as we have used Grasslands previously for several large purchases and the quality was excellent. Not the usual standard - we have previously recommended Grasslands to friends, neighbours and garden professionals. However, very disappointing on this occasion - not at all how they are pictured.”

Hello Shahla, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear 4 of the plants were not up to our usual quality. After looking at the photos you have sent I agree that they are not fit for purpose and should not have been sent. I have refunded them back and you should get this shortly. “I found the same size Red Robin Photinia plants at £29.99 not the £62.02 charged each for 7 plants. This is a massive difference and I feel I have been significantly overcharged. Happy to discuss at anytime?”

“Purchased a Loropetalum Chinense 'Fire Dance' advertised as in a 3 litre pot. This arrived having been shaken up in transit and was perfectly obviously a smaller potted plant that had extremely recently (days at most) been potted on into a 3 litre container. A reasonable email, with photo, to customer services was met with a 'sorry you are not satisfied' and a blindingly obvious 'potted on so that they can grow a bigger root system' - no apology for the misrepresentation or any customer service offer of discount, future or otherwise. Will not be getting any more custom and i advise you to steer clear.”

“We ordered our laurels, which we tagged with our name, 2 weeks ago and was promised delivery the next week. Towards the end of the week we rang and were told that the products we had ordered were pre-ordered and not for delivery until October. We had picked out and put tags on the ones we wanted and paid for so how were we not having them until October. We were told that delivery wouldnt be the following Monday but would try for the Tuesday. We were due to get them delivered today but have just rang and they said delivery not today now. We havent even received a phone call to say they were not coming. We had to ring them to question why we hadnt heard off them with a delivery slot. We are now still waiting for someone to ring us back to tell us what is going on. Took our money (over £500) and customer service and communication appalling.”

“Would never buy again from this company Grasslands one of the main men would never admit to the trees I brought were almost rootless explained absolute nonsense? This so called man told me that he grew the trees yet Im certain they were shipped in from abroad as the had a blue tape round the stem which I believe is a customs must when importing trees?”

“Not a great experience, first they delivered the laurels I ordered to the wrong address even though they were using their own delivery driver and it would have been obvious it was the wrong address as it had a different house name. Then the replacement trees they sent a couple of weeks later were yellowed, one was falling out of the pot with roots showing even though I had specifically asked them to ensure the replacement trees were decent. I was so disappointed with the condition of the replacement plants I opened a return. Then several weeks later they called me and advised they would collect the next day which was nowhere near enough notice. I was away with work which I told them during the call yet their delivery driver still showed up at 6.25 am. Lucky I wasn’t home that day as I would have been very annoyed being woken up at that time of the morning. They now state they can only provide 1 days’ notice of collection which is ridiculous, and will not refund until they do collect so really they are ensuring they don’t collect and thus don’t have to refund!”

“Very pleased with the size of the plant and the packaging Very disappointed with the quality of the leaves a third of the plant had insect destroyed leaves I contacted the customer service and sent photos and was told this happens because they don’t use insecticides sadly the plant that was for a present could not be given due to the damage caused to the leaves waste of money as no refund was offered”

“Ordered 20 cherry Laurels, they arrived in a terrible state. I sent them an email with pictures, they advised to remove all yellow leaves and they will be fine once planted. Trees were not healthy, I would not have bought them if I would have seen them first !”

“Ordered 3 pleached photinias and they arrived stapled to their planters(8 staples combined per plant). The staples were rusted and had grown around the plants and therefore were not removable so had to cut the planters thereby damaging the roots and leading to a lot of time wasted and damage to the plants themselves. Greenlands nursery offered no apologies and basically stated it was my problem”

“One of the hedging plants delivered was in very poor condition, and had since been binned. I was continously bluffed off by the customer service department. The cost of the plant is irrelevant, if you buy an item you want it in perfect condition.”

“Hello for over 3 weeks. I’ve been trying to communicate with Grasslands with very little reply I purchased two wisteria trees 6 foot three weeks ago they should’ve been white however it was apparent they are purple. I pacifically requested White as I purchased 4 the previous year. Grasslands even sent a picture to me confirming that they will white And label confirms white, in 6 foot in fact they wasn’t the plants have very good condition however the customer service is non-existent and three weeks down the line. They still haven’t confirmed what might be happening. Sheila from stockport”

“Was sold 7 fully grown cherry laurels ready to plant in October 2023. I’ve explained they will be potted in massive planters. Was told it’s ok. Planted them as instructed. Out of 7 now 6 is basically dying, even after pruning to half size (as recommended), and being treated with cherry laurels food etc. Paid nearly £600 and business don’t take any responsibility for selling clearly diseased trees (especially that one is doing well and they all planted in same place). Will never do business again and highly discouraged anyone else from doing it.”

“Bamboos are overpriced & you certainly do not get what you pay for. You have to wait 10 days just to receive a delivery date. Delivery driver does not call you on the day to let you know ETA so your waiting in all day. Everyone has a sat nav these days so it wouldn’t be too difficult to let you know the time of arrival.”

“The products look great on screen but they have yet to be delivered a month after ordering. Apparently the plants have been sitting in a warehouse for 10 days, obviously not watered because the nursery did not tell the courier company what my address was yet could take payment with the right address as confirmed by the nursery! Still no planta”
