“Thuja Brabant. Trees delivered quickly, and in good condition, BUT, much much smaller than I was expecting. The photographs are very generous. You will need to order a much bigger tree than you think.”

“Thuja's were in good condition when they arrived, except for 4, which were broken at the top (likely from transport) however, another one of the supplied trees was broken at the top so it was only 1.8m in height - well below the size ordered. Unfortunately, the damage was not fresh (was dry and the top and that part was completely missing - had been caused well before the delivery) and was shipped in that condition. It was an order for 41 trees, so some damage could be expected during delivery, but shipping a tree that had clearly been damaged days before being sent to a customer and it being well under the height ordered was a little disappointing. Overall, an efficient service and seemingly healthy trees in the main - shame about the tree that really should have been rejected prior to shipping.”

“I have used Grasslands for many years and always found their plants to be of good quality and price. Their staff are generally knowledgeable and helpful. However, I recently purchased a large plant using their website. It stated that there were 24 in stock and that they were usually ready for collection by 9am the following day but not to visit to collect before receiving the 'OK' e-mail. Fair enough. Then, no e-mail. Gave it a few days and 'phoned them only to be told that their supplier hadn't delivered even though the item was 'in stock'. Eventually, after a fortnight and a few 'phone calls I was told that it was waiting for me, still no e-mail. So, bottom line, I waited a fortnight for an 'in stock' item and had to chase them up to get my plant that I'd already paid for. The idea of ordering on-line is to make it easier, not to wind the customer up to the point of wanting to cancel the order. Great plants, rubbish e-mail admin. I will not be using their website again!”

“Prior to purchasing Laurels on line , I made contact with the office team on several occasions regarding questions I had . My order value was over £1k so I needed to ensure I was getting the correct product . However, it became very apparent that the staff did not know there products and that I asked too many questions .Upon delivery of my trees I was unable to track my order until the actual day , which was not helpful as it was delayed by a day ! This incurred additional costs to me to arrange the team.back to plant . Also the plants had not been watered for 5 days and due to the fact they were handled several times in and out of hubs , there was some damage . I would never use this company again !!”

“The 6/8 was very nice. It was the 8/10 the wasn’t right as it was smaller than the 6/8., so not what I’d asked for. Miss landed! So that’s why I’m only giving 3 out of 5 Overall very happy and will be back again. Thank you”

“The plants I received from grasslands where very healthy l but I had to call three times to find out what was happening with delivery , each time I was told they would get back to me but didn't , it took a month to receive my order .”

“When the trees arrived they were in good condition and large root ball. However communication has been poor. The order was placed mid Dec, with a 10 day delivery forecast, but was not avised that the nursery would be closing for 2 weeks over Christmas and so delay the delivery. And then again no communication after Christmas when the trees could not be dug due to the cold weather and frozen ground. So trees finally received late Jan.”

“Bare root cherry laurels +ve good sized plants as website photos at a good price +ve regular updates on order and delivery status -ve plants 6-days between being dug and being delivered so wait and see if they have survived -ve plants were bundled in tens with four bundles in a a large loose bag so three from forty arrived damaged. At £30 delivery charge would expect better packaging.”

“I ordered two plants. One was fine. The other, a hydrangea, arrived with mildew. Initially when I sent a pic they tried to tell me it was silt from pond water. I sent a further picture demonstrating that newly emerged leaves were affected, and then they just told me not to worry about it, leaves would drop off and all would be well next year... I was unimpressed by Grasslands responses: once something has mildew that's that, it can come back anytime. They may be relaxed about the fact the plant they sent me wasn't in the best of health but I am not... it may not thrive, or worse, it may infect my other hydrangeas. A disappointing shopping experience for me.”

“Delivery of a large tree in a 20 litre pot was made by dumping it immediately in front of my front door. The bell was not rung even though I was in the house at the time so I was unable to ask the driver to move it. Poor delivery service.”
