I ordered two shrubs from Grasslands nursery to be delivered. The money was refunded after three weeks with NO mail/explanation - anything. I phoned up and was told they were out of stock! By then all the other suppliers had sold out. I was furious with the total lack of customer liaison. Very poor service. Looking at the survey I am staggered at the lack of tact to send it to me

I ordered the 5 x bamboo plants and paid for next day delivery - these were for a rented property an hour away from where I live. I paid extra for next day delivery as I was going to be at the property then. I ordered at 12:45 and wasn't told (nor was their any indication on the website) that I had to order before midday to secure next day delivery. As a result the plants turned up 2 days after the order when I was not at the property. The driver refused to even bring the plants into the front garden, so they were left on the curb of a busy street for several hours until I could get to them. Luckily they were still there as they could have been easily stolen. the plants were very dry when the arrived and had many dried out leaves on them. I wouldn't use again. The website also failed to take the transaction several times before it went through and by bank had held the second transaction for a few days.

Ordered 5 trees (£207) and 2 were delivered almost dead. Now they are dead. Couldn’t send me replacements so massive gaps in my garden. Not really much more I can add. Company gave refund.

I am very disappointed with the customer service received. I ordered a number of plants including 6 laurels (6ft). They were all planted in accordance with instructions. 5 have flourished but one has not. I wrote to Grasslands and was sent a standard response telling me to water everyday, which I had , and continues to do so. No improvement so wrote again and got same response word for word. Two month on this plant has died and I have written again but Graslands have refused to replace it. I have 5 healthy plants and one which despite being treated the same has died and they won’t do anything about it. They suggested I prune it which given I paid for a 6 ft tree will not help and anyway it has died now. I can’t believe that in these days of great customer service from so many online companies that Grasslands have adopted this approach. Perhaps they may see sense

I have used this nursery for over 15 years. Always been exceptionally pleased with the quality of the plants. I recently ordered £1700 with online for my sons new garden. The delivery arrived on time but with a few very Poor quality plants. I rang several times and was told that a person would ring me back they never did I am a reasonable person and would’ve liked to have achieved a satisfactory outcome. I then wrote a detailed letter including pictures to the managing director who I assumed would have the professionalism and customer service focus to get back in touch with me. Four weeks on I am still waiting a reply The way I feel right now I will never use them again.

2 large shrubs arrived in a tall narrow box... one shrub was shoved on top of the other with no care, protection or padding. Some stems were snapped off. Very poor.

Just terrible. We order a Wisteria Sinensis on 4th April and a Wisteria was delivered on Mon 12th April, the only problem was that it was a Wisteria Brakybotrys instead. I contacted Grasslands first thing on Tues 13th April to inform them and sent images. I chased again on Wed 14th, still no reply. I then received an email response on Thurs 15th helpfully telling me that "wisterias are available in a wide range of colour....we do not guarantee the colour you would receive". I responded that the issue was that they haven't supplied the type of wisteria I ordered and I am still waiting for a resolution. The current response is that they're speaking to their picking team... Suffice to say I won't be a repeat customer and have already requested a refund. Avoid.

Despite ordering hundreds of plants from Grasslands I’m really disappointed that they have supplied some exceptionally poor quality Laurels. I’ve had dozens of laurels planted in the garden, by the same gardener at the same time using the compost supplied by Grasslands. However some are almost dead and in a very poor state. Grasslands maintain this is due to poor aftercare despite the fact that some are perfectly healthy planted right next to some of the almost dead ones. You can see in the attached photos, some are perfectly fine and some are just awful. Really disappointing that Grasslands wont replace the few poor ones out of the hundreds I’ve ordered. I wont be using Grasslands again

Ordered a prunus snow fountain tree online which I paid for. I was informed that the order would take 7 to 10 days to arrive which was fine. I was sent instructions how to plant the tree which were very clear and concise. Then after about 7 days I was telephoned to tell me that the trees were out of stock! I had spent so long searching for the right tree for my garden and it has been so difficult to find another one. I should have been told it was out of stock before I paid for it. Very disappointing.

Not suitable for commercial / trade customers. We ordered for the first/last time - requesting delivery to a client's address. We found the wait time stated on the website understandable (under the circumstances) but expected some form of communication to advise when the order would be delivered. We couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone - which from other reviews on TrustPilot appears to be a theme. After repeated unanswered calls, we did eventually receive a call to advise a delivery date. We were advised the driver would contact us when en-route so that we could be at the client's property to take receipt. We received no such call. The client (who just so happened to be at home) took delivery in the morning. We were then advised that the order was delivered in the afternoon. The people we spoke to at Grasslands didn't appear very confident in the information they were giving us and I suspect weren't well trained or set up to offer trade customer service.

Finally got through to Grasslands. Was given an apology then told the items were not in stock and offered a refund. Would have been nice to have been told when the items might be in stock and asked if i was prepared to wait. Anyway. Too tired to get irritated. Harj Sandhu

I ordered plants and it two weeks for me to be notified that they didn't have what I ordered but they did have the larger, more expensive plants. Had to request a refund three times before they refunded

I purchased two Italian cypress trees that were very thin measuring 82cm and 84cm and with delivery cost approx £35. I have never felt so cheated in my life, you could get far superior for less money from other nurseries on the internet. I complained, only to be told that no size was advertised when i made my purchase. My fault for trusting that the would have at least 100cm -120cm we live and learn. This will be my last purchase and so many of my green fingered friends. G rhodes

I don't feel our opinion has been valued. We were sold over £600 worth of sarcococca in 5 litre plants, but the plants when we took them out, the pot bound roots had clearly just been taken out of 1 litre pots and transferred, they were certainly not worth £19.50 and were no bigger than the 1 litre pots we found at a fraction of the price in local nurseries. We were appalled by both responses from your customer care team and my husband will now be speaking to your MD. We have sent in photographs but received no response

I Purchased two Italian Cypress trees costing around £35 inc postage. When they arrived I was shocked at there size one measured 82cm the other 84cm most of that was the pot and a very sparse top 20cm top growth. I complained only to receive a rather blunt email telling me that they never advertised what size they were and they were sorry that was unhappy. Looking at several nurseries they are so much better value 1.2m to 1.4m was the size most offered. I feel cheated, and there after sales service is blunt and extremely poor. I will never use this company again. Graham.

I asked the check out man "do you sell grass seeds?" He snarled at me and replied aggressively “No we don't sell that sort of thing here" then turned his back on me and took out his mobile. I thanked him for his help. He wasn’t listening. Grasslands that doesn’t sell grass seeds? Top marks for rudeness and bad behaviour. Avoid.
