“We purchased and planted 8 pleached Photinia Red Robin trees from Grasslands in Nov 2020. 6 of the original trees died due our garden being largely made up of poorly draining clay soil. Grasslands we’re very helpful in trying to remedy the issue. After numerous emails - including sending photos and videos - we decided to dig out a large trench. We removed as much clay as possible around the area where the trees were being planted. We then laid down a bed of gravel and sand. Grasslands finally got the replacement trees back in stock and we planted them last week. I was hoping they would have honoured the original price for the trees, but a 20% discount was the next best thing. This time we backfilled the trench with high quality loam, and planted them slightly higher creating small mounds around the rootball of the tree. I also invested in the ‘H’ stakes they recommended for heavy trees. Hopefully now we’ve done enough to give the trees the best possible chance of survival🤞. Overall I’m happy with Grasslands and their support. The trees for out of stock for sometime, but eventually came back in stock. My only suggestion would be to give more flexibility to the customer when scheduling a delivery. Especially when they’ve spent a large amount of money with you.”

“Delivery was quicker than expected. Plants arrived in excellent condition, 1 of the pots were cracked but soil was intact and no damage was done. Customer service is brilliant, prompt response to any questions i had for the aftercare/maintenance. Bought 2 clematis armandii snowdrift, purchased another 3 plants a few days later. Very impressed with the quality and size of all plants. The only downside i would say is having to pay £10 for delivery with each purchase. Overall very pleased with everything. Will definitely be our go to for future plant shopping.”

“We purchased three pleached hornbeams online last year and Grasslands were really helpful and prompt in emailing and delivery. The trees arrived with tiny hard buds and tbh looked dead! I emailed and was assured they should burst into action in the spring and that’s exactly what’s happened! Phew as they were very expensive! They were also difficult to handle/plant but my husband did a fantastic job complete with the posts and bars, also from Grasslands. He did need to hire a stake basher though as they are possibly a little over the top in size. Saying that, with the three recent storms they have stood firm! Anyway, just to say Grasslands trees are great and staff super helpful so don’t hesitate in buying from them. Too far for us to visit and we felt we took a chance purchasing such expensive trees online but all good and we really recommend Grasslands.”
