“This shrub/tree was very disappointing. It was very small with only one stem. Nothing like the photo they have on their website to advertise the size of the shrub. I did complain to the company and all I got from them that it was in a dormate state and will soon grow. Absolutely disgusting customer service for something I paid over £100 for.”

“Decent price and good condition but black bamboo plants smaller and thinner than 35L pot specimens I sourced locally last year. Judging by the root balls when lifted out the pots, they'd just been re-potted prior to sale. Well packaged and safely delivered.”

“I ordered 4 of these to under plant roses. Despite being in full flower, I could immediately see black spots on some of the leaves & black stems too. As an experienced gardener, I could see it was a problem, researched it and found it is a fungal disease, maybe caused by over watering. I cut all damage away completely. Now it is all coming back again. Such a shame because 2 young shrubs ordered are looking very healthy, but Grasslands must know that the Vinca minor is diseased.”

“We ordered four large evergreen trees and with our previous experience in landscaping planted them in accordance to instructions. All but one has died and despite regular communications with grasslands nursery as to the slow deterioration of the trees ensuring transparency- they have refused to refund this purchase or replace the trees. Therefore I will not be purchasing any more from this company or would recommend.”

“Purchased 11x 2m root ball hedge plants, however 4 of them died within just a few months (despite significant efforts to feed, water and multiple contacts with the nursery). Only a minor discount provided for the replacement plants (Had heard other nurseries would replace for free or for half price). For delivery, only given a full day time window. Will not use again”

“Other Buyers Have Had Same Issue: Bought some laurel plants and they arrived in very poor state, many holes and black leaves and limpy leaves and nowhere as shown or described on their website. Extremely terrible customer services and very unprofessional standards overall (sounds like it is non existant, it is the sellers/owners acting as customer service!) Definitely taking this matter to the small claims court, as other customers have had SAME issue recently. Trading Standards and the Ombudsman being notified before legal action taken. This is unacceptable and unlawful trading.”

“I ordered some Laurels advertised at 60-80 cm. Hardly any were even 50 cm. When I contacted Grassland they said don’t worry they will soon grow. This is a wholesale operation with poor customer service in my experience.”

“I ordered 3 plants: Pinus Mugo Pumilio, Miscanthus Sinensis Red Cloud and Carex oshimensis Evergold. They arrived very quickly. Two days after I ordered. Unfortunately, when I opened the box, I thought that they had sent me a bare-rooted plant because one of the plants was out of its pot. There was soil everywhere. Once I cleaned it up, I was able to see that they are all of a good size and healthy-looking. I don't know how they got all tumbled the way they did, but the delivery could have been much better and they could have been packed much more securely.”

“Paid £163 for a laburnum tree. Deliver arrived while I was asleep. 06.35 am and tried ringing me. Left damaged outside my property. No planting instructions. Dead within 2 weeks. Contacted them and was told I had planted it wrong although it had no information with the tree or on the website. Owners could not speak to me. PayPal dispute open.”

“I’m happy with the majority of the plants But foxgloves are very bad almost dead plants, contacted costumer service they replied saying pathetic excuses about the plants and didn’t offer to replace or give me the money back . Very poor service .”

“Once again appalling customer services. There are errors which they admitted yet refusing to issue a final refund. Rude and do not hardly respond to emails. Had to get citizens advice involved, still ignoring emails. This company is a joke.”

“It's the 2nd time I ordered from them. The first was pretty good and all of the plants are healthy but the black bamboos I ordered this time are not good. 2 of them are not healthy and one of the cranes is even completely dead and turn into grey. I've contacted customer support and they refused to send me the replacement.”

“Sent out two plants, incorrect planting instructions sent out, resulting in one dying and the other going into transplant shock. Had to cut it down to help revive it, money lost as purchased a specific height. Company refunded one, email sent no apology, and refused to do anything about the other except blame me when staff had already admitted it was their fault. Rude, poor service, stay away!”

“Slight problem with delivery, the company confirmed a date but the courier did not deliver. Lack of communication from company and courier meant I had to chase for info. Due to location I waited In all day for no delivery. The delivery turned up unannounced, the following day, when no one was home. Fortunately the vehicle was smaller than the usual pallet wagon, so the driver was able to access the property and off load. The trees are exactly what was described, in really good condition and look great. If it wasn’t for the lack of communication on delivery I would have scored 5 stars, based on the product I would definitely look here to purchase anymore trees.”

“Poor customer service and communication. Paid £45 for shipping and my tree was left in another garden of an empty house! I was home all day waiting for delivery and they gave no communication as to when it was delivered. I had to search for it and received no help from customer service. I was told to look around my road! Do not use.”

“OBJECT TO BEING WALKED THROUGH ONE PAYMENT HIKE AFTER THE OTHER ...FIRST CANT BUY LESS THANK £15 worth ....THEN HAVING BEEN FORCED INTO BUYING TWO OF SHRUB I ONLY WANTED ONE OF THEN WE GET TO FINAL CHECK OUT STUNT ...MUST PAY OVER £7 SHIPPING ....WHY NOT COME CLEAN AT THE START INSTEAD OF WASTING MY TIME ...I WANTED A SHRUB FOR £9.99 AND ENDED UP BEING EXPECTED TO PAY £27 FORGET IT ...I DONT DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT”
